Directions

Crimonmogate lies 37 miles (59km) north of the granite city of Aberdeen, the UK's oil capital. Aberdeen Airport, with frequent flights to London, and the railway station, with fast daily trains and nightly sleepers to London, are just 45 minutes from the House by car. From Aberdeen, head northward on the A90 and then the A952, following signs for Fraserburgh. Some 2 miles (3km) north of Mintlaw, shortly after a sign on the left saying "Fraserburgh 10", turn right by a caravan sales park and then, after 80 yards (75m), left following signs for Crimond. Continue for almost 5 miles (8km) to a cross-roads where the main Fraserburgh-Peterhead road crosses your path. The village of Crimond is visible on the right. At this cross-roads turn left in the direction of Fraserburgh, leaving Crimond behind you. After 100 yards (90m) a cottage in a clump of trees appears on the right. Turn right and follow a straight lane for half a mile (almost lkm) to a T-junction. Here turn left. After about 150 yards (140m) you will reach a stone farm building. Turn left. After 200 yards (180m), cross a hump-backed bridge and then immediately turn right through the gates by a neat, white-painted cottage, the East Lodge. Follow the tarmac drive for about 150 yards (140m) and then fork left on to the gravel drive, which will lead you through mature beech trees to the Portico.
